Grapefruit & Pineapple.  I can't choose, it's really both.

1. When eating a taco, do you turn your head or do you turn the taco???

I don't eat tacos.  I really hate taco meat (though I have partially converted to the morningstar veggie crumbles as an alternative and have been known to eat those!), and I even more hate hard shelled tacos. 

2. Chocolate chip cookies or oreos??

Both.  I love cookies.
Also, have you seen that recipe on pintrest for chocolate chip cookies stuffed with oreos??  Gotta make those soon...

3. What's the craziest thing you've ever been asked to do and DID?

Probably when my friend Cat first asked me to do burlesque with her.  I still can't believe I'm capable of doing that kind of thing...but I do it anyway :)

written and sent a fan letter.  I have come close...I think I wrote six drafts of a letter to James & Oliver Phelps (ya know, the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter movies...) but ultimately never sent it out.

1. Do you drink the milk after eating cereal or do you dump it out?I dump it out. Milk is disgusting…pretty much the ONLY time I even use it is in cereal…also mac & cheese…oh, and oreos. Or mashed potatoes… ok so I use milk a lot but it tastes nasty alone so I dump it out.

2. Do you share drinks/food?I believe a Friends quote is applicable here...

"JOEY DOESN'T SHARE FOOD!!"

Sorry.  I love my snacks.  If you didn't bring one, that's your own problem. 

3. How often do you replace your toothbrush?Like every two or three months. Depends on the bristles…once they start to bend I toss it.

4. How often do you wash your hair?Usually daily. I work in a machine shop…do you know what that smells like?? Coolant, metal, and BO. So, my hair gets stinky. And the stuff in the air makes it greasy. So I wash it a lot. It’s still mad soft though.


5. Do you use a dishwasher or do you hand wash your dishes?Hand wash. I *wish* I had a damn dishwasher!! And to think, when I lived with my parents I used to complain about having to do the dishes…and they HAD a dishwasher!!! #firstworldproblems.

2. What is on your Christmas wishlist this year? (I know this has been asked, but I wanna know!)

Ya know, there's always stuff I want {as I've posted before, I am by no means a minimalist and have large tendencies towards hoarding and I'm kind of materialistic}, but I really really just want miracles to happen for other people this year.  After everything my family has gone through in the past couple years with my brother in law's cancer {fyi, I am including his family in with mine, because they are and will always be a part of our family}, and losing my grandmother before that {ok, like 25 years ago, but seriously that still hurts} I just want one of the families I know that is going through this same cancer shit right now to be able to say their loved one is in remission.  Because really, cancer is the devil and it's the most horrible thing I can even think of happening...and I just really want those people I'm thinking of to be ok.

 

3. What is your favorite holiday coffee/tea/alcoholic beverage?

 I am obsessed with mcd's Peppermint Mocha!

4. Top 3 must have holiday desserts?

-My fiance's grandma Marge makes this amazing Grasshopper pie! {mint chocolate - holy yum!}

-My grandma's Apple Pie.

-pumpkin pie!!

5. What time do you get up to open presents from Santa with your family? Do you clean up right away or do you leave it there in a huge pile until it's the night before trash day?

So, I'm 26.  I haven't lived with my parents in like 8 years.  But, every single year, my siblings and I would still spend the night Christmas eve (eventually even with our significant others!) to all open gifts together still first thing Christmas morning.  Then my parents tore down their house to build a bigger one, so the past few years we've all just been meeting up first thing Christmas morning to still do the early morning open gift thing!  This year will be even better because we'll be celebrating my baby nephew's first Christmas!!  And of course, we always have garbage bags ready for wrapping paper.  {we don't get my fiance's daughter for Christmas mornings, so we always celebrate the morning with my family!}

6. What is your New Years resolution?  
To  be happy.

Answering this week's Coffee Talk questions with Nat.

All about the couples:

1. How did you meet your partner?

Well, I met my man {Weston} when I was a freshman in high school.  There was this guy I had a crush on, thanks to ripped abs and long hair, and Weston was that guy's friend.  Oh, and West's high school girlfriend rode my school bus, so I used to write bus passes for him {yes mama nise I totally forged your name...sorry!} so I could flirt with him on the ride home.

2. How did you feel about your partner when you first met them?

Well after I got over my crush on his friend {who I ended up dating for nine months, he really is a great guy} I had an even bigger crush on him. And then he finally started dating me for a minute...and then we broke up because his ex was pregnant...well he broke up with her when she was pregnant to date me and actually broke up with me because I wouldn't put out {way to go fifteen year old me! keep them legs closed gurl} and I am a horrible person for dating a guy with a pregnant girlfriend but...I had NO idea she was pregnant at that time!  I was fifteen, I just thought she was getting fat! LMAO

3. Where was your first date taken place?

I guess our first "date" in high school was me coming to his house after school to hangout...unless skipping classes and making out all over the entire school counts haha.  Our first "date" for our grown up relationship wasn't much better...it was a drunk hookup.  But look at how great we turned out, huh?  :)

4. Where do you see y'all in 5 years?

Married.  Happy as a duck in water.  Hopefully with no kids on the way because my sister was much too graphic in describing pregnancy so now I'm totally terrified of ever having children! haha!!

I keep gaining & losing a follower.

It took forEVER to get to 50, and this morning I had 53...now 52.

This makes me sad.

2. What's the BEST birthday gift you've ever gotten? What is the WORST gift?

The best gift is always just that I've managed to survive another year.

Also - new laptop.

And the inexplicable hedgehog charm my love got me for my Pandora bracelet.

Oh yeah, and the time my friend's band played happy birthday to me at my house. Like loud enough to irritate my hateful neighbors.

The worst?  Probably every time people forget my birthday and I don't get cake. I need cake!

3. Do you like having birthday parties for yourself? What about surprise birthday parties? 

I'm all about celebrating my day.

But I hate people. Well, large gatherings.

Especially cuz they all usually drink and smoke too much, two things I don't do, equalling zero fun for me.  I think I'm past the birthday bashes. Boo.

4. What is your dream birthday party bash??? 

Me & my man.

And cake, LOTS of cake.

Also shopping. With limitless funds.

Yes, that is a birthday party bash to me.

5. What is your favorite kind of birthday cake? [handmade, store bought, made fresh by a baker]

All kinds. I friggin love cake.

6. What is on your birthday wish list? 

Well my bday isn't for MONTHS yet...so I really don't know.

Being thankful...

Um.  Here's a story.

So, where I live is only about ½ hour away from a few little Amish communities. Thus, it’s not so unusual for me to go shopping at Wal-Mart and find a horse & buggy parked out front. It’s a pretty regular occurrence. Ya know, not allowed electricity or lawn mowers, but shopping at Wal-Mart is cool. (Sorry, I just don’t “get” the Amish thing. Not trying to bash them or anything, but with the technology and lifestyle I’ve grown up with it’s all a little odd to me.)
Do you know how long it takes to take a horse and buggy the distance that’s only ½ hour by car? A LONG time. The drive from WNY to the Dakotas takes only 24 hours (um, if you speed a lot like my dad), but on a horse? Sheesh. There’s a reason the west took so long to be settled.

Today, I am thankful for motor vehicles.Especially because there was a copious layer of frost over everything this morning. So thank you also, inventor of the heating system in motor vehicles. Oh! And windshield wipers. And headlights.

Being Thankful & a lil coffee talk

Well first, since it is Thursday and I missed it last week, here's a little Coffee Talk with Nat.

1. If you could punch ANY celebrity in the face, who would it be and why?

Jesse James, because he's a damn fool for what he did to Sandra Bullock. And then to Kat von D.

Also, Angelina Jolie.  Because she can't possibly be as good and decent of a person as she pretends to be.  She collects kids like some people collect purses. 

 
2. If you could go streaking (running naked for those who don't know) anywhere and get away with it, where would you do it?

Well, I'm a burlesque dancer (yeah i haven't performed in ages shutup) so I have been practically naked on stage in front of people a bunch of times.  And more people have actually  seen me in the buff than I'd like to admit to.  So I guess I wouldn't really feel like streaking too much.

 
3. What’s more important to a relationship: common values or commonalities (like tastes in music, interests, etc.)?

In a relationship (like a boyfriend/girlfriend one) both of those are really important.  Not that you need to share in every interest your significant other does (holy crap how boring would that be??) but if one of you is a hardcore Christian and the other is an Atheist, imagine raising kids with that. Values are important.  But as far as friendships, commonalities seem to be enough.

 
4. Would you rather be insane in a functional society, or one of the people running a dysfunctional society?

 We live in a dysfunctional society.  I have not yet be labeled insane...yet.

 
5. What’s your favorite type of pickle?  Dill?  Bread ‘n Butter? Spicy?

I realllyyyyyy hate pickles.

um, except for the guy from Metalocalypse.

Today, I am thankful for friends.

It might not be a big deal for some people, but just think about it for a second:

How incredible is it, that out of all of the people in the world, people actually like you for being you, and want to hang out with you and do stuff?  Who'll cheer you up when you're sad, just because you're sad?  Who'll lend you $3 to get a sub at lunch when you're broke, or give you a ride to work cuz you have to share a car with your fiance and have no other way of getting there?

Friends are a big deal.

And mine are pretty awesome.

   

 

coffee talk {let's talk about...}

1. Let's talk about ink: Do you have tattoos? How many?? 

uh, yeah.  a lot. workin' on a half sleeve of my left arm (flowers, sewed up heart...) & right calf (mermaid & sea)...plus the seahorse on my back, "hearbreaker" on my ankle, key & lock on my foot, "betty" {a sugar skull & crossbones. i have named her betty.} on my wrist, butterfly on my butt, koi fish & peony on my stomach... & nope, I don't regret a single one.

part of my eventual half sleeve...basically flowers on my shoulder down my bicep at the moment.

lock & key and heartbreaker. dude, top of the foot HURTS LIKE A BAD MOFO. do not get tattooed there, especially if it's your first. I am not exaggerating. much.

2. Let's talk about hair styles: Bangs, do you have them, want them, or trying to grow them out? What about side bangs? 

bangsssss.  Ahhh  my love/hate relationship with bangs.  When I was a kid, I had side bangs always.  My dad used to cut my hair.  So, THICK side bangs.  In 7th grade, this kid who shall remain nameless told me it looked like I had a dead animal on my head.  So, I grew them out.  Eventually, I got better side bangs.  Currently, they're too much effort so I have no bangs.

3. Let's talk about work: Without getting specific with a company name, what do you do? What did you want to be when you grew up when you were young? 

I work for a company my father & uncles own.  I am an inventory specialist.  (uh, i count shizzzz all day. woo hoo)  When I was little, I really wanted to be an "architect", like Indiana Jones.  Yeah, eventually I realized the word was archaeologist.  And involved finding bones of people and such sometimes.  And that I wouldn't get to carry a bullwhip or do any of the fun things he does.  So... yeah.

4. Let's talk about friends: Do you find it easier or more difficult to meet new friends as an adult? Do you have what you'd consider 'blog friends'? What about IRL (in real life) friends?

I have made some new friends as an adult.  Most of my core group of friends though I've had pretty much through my school years.  I'm not a naturally outgoing person (no one believes this but it's true), so most of the friends I have made as an adult are thanks to my wonderful fiance, who has an amazing core group of friends as well :) 

I definitely have some awesome bloggy friends!  And a couple I even know IRL :)

5. Let's talk about Social media: Android or iPhone? Twitter or Facebook?

I have no smart phone.  Don't even get me started.

And I have never opened a twitter account.  I do have FB, though I've considered deleting it many times.
