No bueno.

I am sick.

Clearly I'm super attractive when I'm ill. Hahhhh.

Well, as some of you know, I have chronic migraines, so I'm "sick" half of the time anyways.  But as of Sunday, I woke up feeling icky (I think mostly from indulging myself for Cinco de Mayo...thanks for bringing the tequila loaded drinks little sister), but after a few hours I realized I was pretty congested and sneezing a lot.  I took some cold medicine before bed, as by that point I realized it was getting worse.  By Monday morning, after a really fitful night's sleep  (I think I was waking up every hour, hour and a half...ughhh), I could only breathe out of one nostril (EW) and when I took a shower, I realized that even the lymph nodes under my arms were swollen and hurt.

The last time I was sick enough that those lymph nodes were swollen was in High School when I had mono.
Needless to say, I called my doctor's office as soon as they opened and was able to be seen that afternoon.  He gave me a hardcore antibiotic, for my sinus infection (well, now I know why I was so congested!), and I had to have bloodwork done to check for mono.

After that, I went home, laid curled up on my couch with the second Hunger Games book, and ate chicken noodle soup.

Today, my entire body is still sore.  I can feel the swollen lymph nodes in my arms again, and my neck...if this is all just from my sinus infection it's the worst I've ever had!!  Luckily, I have my laptop so I am again ensconced in the warmth of my horrible old mustard and olive floral couch.  And thanks to someone, I have no shortage of delicious teas to sip on to try to soothe my throat :)

View from my "nest"...Catching Fire & Mockingjay; Passionfruit tea in a mug from Etsy, used tissues, a nearly empty water bottle, & season 2 of Friends on TV.
I'm hoping to hear from the doctor's office today to find out if I have mono or not...fingers crossed that it's not mono!!!  It's really boring being stuck at home and feeling crappy :/

Some truths & goals.

I've decided to start creating goals for myself each week.
I've never been good at sticking with something long enough to reach a goal, but I feel like now is a great time to start.  So I'll be sharing this journey into making & reaching goals with you.  Because I'll probably need encouragement.  <3

This week's goals:
{make something new each day}
{keep track of my spending this week by writing down everything I purchase}
{eat fresh fruit at least 3 times this week}
{finish one cup of yogurt this week}

Ok, so the food ones are kind of weird, but I have fallen into some poor eating habits and I'm trying to relearn how to eat healthily.  I know from experience that I can't go all cold turkey on not eating junky food, so I'm trying to add something good in place of something bad each week, until the good stuff is more common than the bad.  And I despise yogurt.  The taste and texture...ughhh.  Seriously, every time I eat it I make a face like a baby eating peas or something.  But, I don't get enough stuff with calcium because I also refuse to drink milk, so yogurt it is.

By the way, does anyone else ever think about how weird it is that we drink cow (or goat or whatever) milk?  I mean, milk is produced for offspring.  We wean babies off of breast milk after a few months.  Shouldn't people be drinking milk from the same animal at least?
Um. That got creepy. My bad.

{truths}

{I am terrified of becoming a stepmother}
I don't know why.  For all intents and purposes, I've been her stepmom for 3 years.  But I'm still scared that somehow it's going to be totally different in ways I don't yet know.

{I've been in love with my fiance since I was 14}
Seriously.  I didn't know it was love when I was 14.  But when we re-met, and everything clicked so perfectly, and it all felt like we were picking back up where we left things back then...I knew it to be true.  He's always been The One. And that's never going to change.

{I am a compulsive shopper}
It's funny to joke about being a shopaholic, but I've come to realize over the last few months that I seriously have a problem.  There is literally not a DAY in the last couple of weeks that I haven't made some sort of purchase.  Whether it's a morning coffee, or lunch, or a new shirt, something from Etsy...
But now that I realize that it is really an actual compulsive need of mine, I'm working on controlling it.  I do not want to end up on an episode of Hoarders someday.

{My tattoos make me feel beautiful}
Although sometimes it absolutely confuses me and weirds me out when someone compliments me on them.  I kind of forget they're there, they're such a part of who I am.  (Plus sometimes people randomly touch them. Not. Cool)

Happy Sunday.

What I wore - Date Night!

Last Wednesday, my fiance and I decided we needed some "us" time, and had an actual date night.
Which doesn't happen that often, because even though we spend a ton more money than we should on food, it's usually take out rather than a sit down restaurant meal.
We went to Applebee's, since we had a gift card left from Christmas, and it was delicious! And we discovered that Applebee's has a trivia night every week on Wednesdays, so we are definitely going back for that soon.  And since we're both vessels of pointless knowledge, we're sure to kick some butt at it for sure :)

I love this outfit.  It's comfy and cute and casual.  Well I think it is anyway.

{Sunglasses} - Betsey Johnson (via Marshall's)
{Earrings} - LolitaRose (my jewelry & accessory line)
{Shoes & Tank} - Marshall's
{Leggings} - Target
{Belt & Top} - H&M
{Bracelet} - flourishleather

Also fun about this outfit, I got the top and belt in NYC a couple summers ago to celebrate my mom's birthday & see Mary Poppins on Broadway.
Best. Trip. EVER.
Yay for mom & sister time :)
